In today’s guest post, Raychel was nice enough to to answer some of the most common questions women have about makeup. Here’,s what she had to say…, Beauty tips makeup.

1. How can women go about finding the right makeup for their face?

Finding the right makeup starts with your personal style. When I am meeting with clients to shop for makeup, the first thing I want to determine is their lifestyle. Even if you might look great in a bright red lip, you’,ll never wear it if you feel uncomfortable. So maybe opt for a sheer cherry gloss. Next, decide if you are drawn to warm palettes (browns, golds, corals) or cool palettes (purples, grays, pinks) so that you know the family of products to look for at the counter. And finally, determine what feature you want to enhance. If you love playing up your eyes, then experiment with different colors and keep the rest fairly neutral.

2.What’s your make up no-no? What are the most common mistakes you see women make, and how can they fix them?

When it comes to makeup, I generally have a ‘,less is more’, attitude. Of course, there are always those occasions to go hog wild and try something really daring, but when I’,m walking around NYC the women that strike me as the most beautiful are those that show off their natural beauty. When I see a woman with a full face of makeup, I want to take a tissue and wipe some off to uncover what is sure to be a prettier *her*. Even if you don’,t have flawless skin, make sure to choose products that let it show, rather than something that is full coverage. With your eyes, it’,s OK to wear 3-4 different shadows but try to avoid all shimmer. And with lips, rather than use a liner, lipstick and gloss, maybe opt for one or two products. Let your makeup enhance you, not cover you–, that’,s my philosophy.

3. What are some beauty products you’,re loving right now?

4. What are some easy ways women can go from day to night looks when they’,re in a rush?

Women seem to think that when going out at night, they need a whole new makeup collection. But this then puts you at risk of looking like an entirely different person just because it is dark out! I’,ve always felt that evening makeup should just be an amped up version of what you wear during the day. For instance, most of my clients wear the basics–, a little concealer, blush, mascara and lipstick. A good rule of thumb is for each feature, add one product. On your eyes, apply either a sweep of liner or shadow, on your cheeks dab some highlighter and on your lips, define them with a little lipliner. That way you look like a *dressy* version of yourself. 5. What do you think should be in every woman’,s makeup collection?

If you are going to travel with the essentials, be it to the office, a luncheon or on an airplane, I think every woman needs a few key items. First, you want an eyelash curler and a thickening mascara. These will open up your eyes, making you look fresh and awake. Next, a bronzer to dust on all the high points of your face (temples, cheekbones, nose) to give yourself some warmth and dimension. And then follow that with a bright (brighter than you think) blush right on the apples of your cheek. And of course, don’,t forget to pack your favorite gloss or lipstick!
