In the age of Marie Kondo it's easy to forget that Trish McEvoy is the godmother of makeup organization. Her leather bound planners, with "pages" of powder blush and eye shadow, and slim pouches filled with perfectly sized brushes, have been department store bestsellers for years, and in her four plus decades in business, she has championed an essentials-only attitude about makeup and fragrance that still feels fresh. The beauty of makeup.
But when you meet McEvoy in person it's clear that she has an exacting attitude about everything, from go-to gifts to neighborhood haunts. On the occasion of her new book THE MAKEUP OF A CONFIDENT WOMAN: The Science of Beauty, the Gift of Time, and the Power of Putting Your Best Face Forward , out today, we asked her to fill out our T&,C questionnaire, and to give us her take on old standbys and new favorites.
Describe your perfect night on the town.
My perfect night on the town is going to Indochine with friends and family and just enjoying each others company. I have such fond memories of today's owner being the bus boy and my dear friend Robin, now the owner of Me and Ro, being the hostess! Every time I walk through the door I feel that dreams do come true. The magic of New York, the magic of entrepreneurship.
