If you are getting married, you already have a lot to worry about. But getting married during the scorching summer months is even worse. On top of all the things you need to pay attention to, you also have to be doubly cautious about your makeup and ensure it will last you the entire day (and night) that involves wardrobe changes and hours before the sacred fire. And you really don&rsquo,t need one more thing to worry about, do you? The Week is here to help you with that. We talked to Onisha Mulmi of Galz Beauty Parlor to help you maintain your wedding makeup. Beauty parlor eyes makeup.

With the makeup revolution that has taken the world by storm in the last few years, long lasting makeup isn&rsquo,t hard to come by anymore. &ldquo,Gone are the days of worrying about your makeup melting right off your face, if you use the right products,&rdquo, says Mulmi. Either invest in your own products or go to a place that has genuine products that have been imported from abroad. &ldquo,The products purchased here may not be original ones and won&rsquo,t give you the desired results,&rdquo, she adds.

You need to take care of your skin to make sure that the base you work with is good. In the days, or weeks if you have it, preceding the wedding, make sure you take good care of your skin. Cleanse, tone and moisturize your face every day.

On the actual day, before applying your makeup, make sure you put on primer before you apply the foundation. If you have a primer you trust, carry it with you and tell your makeup artist to apply that instead. &ldquo,Primers are important because they block yours pores and that in turn block the sweat glands, making your makeup last longer,&rdquo, says Mulmi.

Opt for a matte finish rather than a glossy finish foundation as matte makeup stays on longer and rarely do they melt away even with the added heat of the fire. &ldquo,Have a loose powder on hand if you have oily skin and compact powder if you have dry skin,&rdquo, she says. If you feel a little sheen forming on your face, touch up your makeup by adding a light dusting of powder on your face.

The first thing you should do on the morning of the ceremony is exfoliate your lips. Take a new toothbrush and apply a tiny bit of face scrub and gently run it across the length of your lips. This will get rid of any dead cells and make your lips look healthy. If there is any turn off in case of lips, it is flaky skin on chapped lips. &ldquo,In the days preceding the wedding, make sure you don&rsquo,t wear matte lipstick and take care to keep not just your lips hydrated but your body too,&rdquo, says Mulmi adding that it&rsquo,s important to drink enough water as it helps keep your lips healthy and doesn&rsquo,t let it get chapped.

Before starting your makeup, apply lip balm to moisturize your lips and make them plump. When your makeup is done, apply matte lipstick. Like in the case of foundation, glossy lipsticks come off easier than matte ones. Make sure you have the same lipstick with you in case you need to touch up throughout the day. &ldquo,Before sitting at the mandap, make sure you have a fresh coat of lipstick on.

This is where most of your photos will be taken and you don&rsquo,t want dull, lifeless lips,&rdquo, says Mulmi.

After eating too, don&rsquo,t forget to touch up. Faded color on the lips looks very unflattering. It&rsquo,s okay for the bride to disappear for a few minutes before resuming the ceremonies.

Say no to dark circles and yes to extra eyelash glue

Yes you want to stay up all night, talking to your sister or parents because you are nervous about starting a new life. But you need to keep in mind that this is one of those times that you need your beauty sleep the most. Bags under the eyes are hard to hide with makeup. Take care not to rub your eyes, and be sure to use waterproof eyeliner and mascara. You don&rsquo,t want mascara streaking down your face when you inevitably cry.

Eye makeup is hard to touch up so you should apply an eye makeup primer before doing the makeup. &ldquo,Most brides wear fake eyelashes and the glue doesn&rsquo,t stay on all day long, so it is a good idea to have eyelash glue at hand,&rdquo, says Mulmi. It isn&rsquo,t very attractive to have half the eyelash sticking out. &ldquo,You can ask your makeup artist for an extra pot or buy it yourself as well,&rdquo, she says.

Treat your hair before the wedding and use minimal hair products during the ceremony

You need to really take care of your hair before and after your wedding. Hair sprays really take a toll on the hair so make sure you have good quality hair to start with. Hair treatments before and after the wedding ceremony are an absolute must to retain healthy hair.

During the ceremony, have extra bobby pins with you as well as a bottle of hair spray. Wardrobe changes mean that the veil too will need to be changed. Wisps of hair are bound to stick out at certain times, which can be tamed back. Carry a new toothbrush with you, on which you can spray the hair spray and brush back your hair. This will allow minimal extra product on your hair while making sure that the job is done and the stray hair is tucked back in place.

When your makeup is done in its entirety, apply setting spray on your face for an extra layer of protection. This helps your makeup stay in place and won&rsquo,t let it come off easily because of heat and sweat. Think of it as an invisible barrier between you and the environment to protect your makeup against all odds. &ldquo,The setting spray is a crucial part of wedding makeup. It will ensure that your makeup stays intact till the end of the wedding ceremony, without you having to stress out about it too much,&rdquo, concludes Mulmi.
